Community Track
The Community Track is different than our other Code Camp tracks and frankly unlike anything we have held in the past. That said, we think many of you will enjoy it and find real value in participating. The Community Track is an open format in the style of a BarCamp. According to their website, "BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event." In other words, it's where you can ask questions and get answers. It's where you can promote something technology related that you are passionate about. More importantly, it's where you can discuss topics which have not been covered in any of the other more traditional tracks or sessions. If you would like more information, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BarCamp or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconference.
For the Community Track, sessions will be pitched by attendees from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM on Saturday. Participants will then vote on the sessions they would like to see and then schedule them throughout the rest of the day.
The following are some of the sessions that have already been proposed for this track. You will hear more about these sessions during the pitch from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM on Saturday. If you are interested in participating and would like to pitch your own session, feel free to register as a speaker. Register Now! (We will also be accepting sessions Saturday morning.)

COM43-100: VSTS DB: Ten features to make DB schema versioning and deployment easier! Are you looking for a simpler way to keep track of database schema changes? Does it take you too long to create and test database deployment scripts? Are you having hard time keeping up with breaking changes in your DB scripts? If you answered 'Yes' to one or more of these question or have similar issues, then you may find this session helpful. This session will jump start you into using Visual Studio database development tools (data dude) to reduce the risk and complexity involved in managing database schema changes required by your applications. While this session is based on VSTS DB 2010, most of the information is relevant to VSTS DB 2008. |
