About Carolina Code Camp

Carolina Code Camp logo The Enterprise Developers Guild launched the first MSDN Code Camp event in Charlotte in Spring 2005 and has been holding Code Camps at least annually ever since, making the 2010 event the 10th held. Previous locations include the Microsoft offices off W. Arrowood Rd. and the CPCC Central Campus off Elizabeth Ave. and Charlottetowne Ave. (formerly E. Independence Blvd.). In its early years, it attracted less than 100 attendees but has been growning rapidly and is now one of the largest events of its kind with an estimated 300 developers and enthusiasts expected for the this year's event.

About MSDN Code Camps

MSDN Code Camp logo MSDN Code Camps are community events where developers and enthusiasts come to learn from and network with their peers. The original Code Camp was a conglomeration of ideas by many different people across the development community. The idea was simple, provide an off-hour forum for the development community to speak and share ideas for them to come and enjoy. Expect lots of education, networking, and food.

An original MSDN Code Camp organizer, Thom Robbins, wrote a six-point manifesto:

  • By and for the developer community
  • Always free
  • Community developed material
  • No fluff – only code
  • Community ownership
  • Never occur during working hours

We've got a very strong committee planning this event with members including:

Mark A. Wilson
Co-Chair; Webmaster; Event and Food Service Coordinator

Bill Jones Jr., MVP
